Brushes
Demystified

The Brush Method by Anthony Stanislavski
They Say Brushes Can’t Be Taught
I Disagree

I developed a method based that is perfectly teachable. It’s based on the following 3 tenets:

  1. Lateral movement

Learn how to utilise the sounds only brushes can create. We do this using the “train tracks”.

  2. Four core techniques

Learn the 4 building blocks of simple and logical movement.

  3. Improvisational cells
Learn how to adapt stick vocabulary to brushes.

This is what I call The Brush Method. Let me teach you!

Hi, I’m Anthony

professional drummer, educator, and author

I joined the Australian Army Band when I was 18 and started teaching soon after. When I couldn’t find a clear, musical way to teach brushes, I created it myself. I developed a step-by-step method that helps drummers build control, expand their vocabulary, and start making music from day one.
